I also think that 'ghosts' exist as a sort of energy that is all around us.
Skeptics will say that they haven't seen a Ghost, therefore they don't exist !
I remember reading once, in a book about paranormal investigation, That if you look at a magnet you can't see the 'force' or energy around it, but scientists know it's there. You can see this energy if you sprinkle iron filings around the magnet, they form a pattern around it and will move with the magnet. Take the iron filings away and you can't see the 'energy' any more but it's still there !
All we need to do now is find the 'iron filings' of the paranormal world and we'll all be able to see ghosts !
I know that's rather simplistic but it's a good way of proving that invisible energy is all around us, and with the right catalyst it can be seen !

^ I agree Steve. Science has it's place but neither science or religion have all the answers (what a boring world it would be if we did have all the answers eh?).
The interesting thing with 'ghosts' (taking this to mean visual apparitions? grey figures etc?) for me is why and how they project the image that they do. It has always fascinated why the apparition chooses to present themselves at that particular time in their lifetime. Is it at the time of their death, and what they were wearing at that time?
I only have one vivid memory from childhood of seeing a ghost, one my grandmother later told me was that of my great grandmother. She was wearing period clothing which was turn of the 19th/20th century I think. She didn't acknowledge me, but was focused on a big book that she was reading from. She was wearing some kind of bonnet or hat and what looked like a long thick scarf type affair. Sitting on the end of the bed.
is it our own subconcious that prejects our own expectation of how the ghost should appear? does the energy that forms the ghost act as some sort of 'snap shot' of the spectre at the time of their death? sort of like a spiritual zerox copy.
it is easy to see that if their is a legend of a local ghost, and many people have heard this, it is then not suprising that these people all see the same image of the ghost...but what about those people that have no prior knowledge of the ghost and still end up seeing the same as others have previously reported seeing? that must be more than just coinsidence?

Hi am a believer, i prefer to call them spirits not ghosts it seems more friendlier in a way, anyway the reason i believe in spirits is due to seeing my nan standing at the bottom of my bed when i was about 8 or 9 years old, many would say this is normal, but my nan passed away when my mum was 11 years old. I felt at the time she was trying to tell me something but i was scared and since then i have not seen her....which i would love to experiance again now

I personally think that you must be very naive indeed not to believe in ghosts. When I was younger I saw something by the apple tree in our old back garden. A small grey shape, almost child-shaped. I still don't know what it was, but from that moment on I never sought to be TOO sceptical. Even though I pride myself on being quite a rational gal

I beleive in most paranormal things as there must be some truth to the millions of accounts and stories.
