Hello everyone. It is interesting what you have wrote on the very popular subject, that is ' ghosts!'
Let me ask you a question, what is a ' ghost? '
There will be many answers I am sure. Let me just indulge and imbue you with my acumen and sagasity.
As an investigator of said " ghosts " for many years I have come up with a few conclusions, surrounding the hype to do with ' ghosts. '
Many of the so called ' ghosts ' that people see are no more than ' trace imprints.' " Trace imprints " I hear you say!!
Yes, ' trace imprints. ' Allow me a few minutes to explain what these ( trace imprints ) are.
In the second world war, as you can imagine there were lots of radio messages going off. In the upper atmosphere there is an energy belt called the Ionospere. It is basically ionized air that reflects radio waves. It also catches radio waves. With the right radio you can actually tune into the ionized air in the upper atmosphere and pick up the radio world war two radio signals. They still sound as fresh as if they were just produced. But obviously now they are nearly sixty years old. But, in very much the same way, ' ghost ' occur. let me give you an easy to understand example: Many years ago I was investigating the ghostly figure of a monk on the Stockbrigde bypass in Sheffield. I remained there most of the evening. I saw nothing. But, what I found interesting is that all of the people that I spoke to said the exact same thing. That they saw the monk walk accross the road and down the banking at the other side, paying no attention to fast moving traffic at all, disappearing then re-appearing randomly. It came to my attention that this must be a ' trace imprint. ' The reason why the monk was disappearing and then re-appearing was that the surface of the land has obviously changed somewhat since he was last here. So where he might have disappeared is where the land has got higher since his days. Then there is the lady that once phoned me at about 01:30. She was absolutely petrified and could not sleep because she saw this figure of a lady walk through her bed and straight through a wall. I asked her to try and calm down even this would have seemed impossible. I in the end asked if she could sleep in her sons bedroom for the time being and that I will go and see her in the morning. When I went down to see later on that morning, the first thing I did was knock on her neighbours door and ask them if the previous owner of the house I was investigating had ever reported seeing a ghostly figure. It turns out that they did, they had seen a figure of a woman that walked through their bed and then apparently walked through the wall. They could not remember the time when it happened, but could remember the event.
One can conclud from this that the figure of the lady walking through beds and through a wall was indeed a ' trace imprint. ' She obviously walked through the wall, because when she had lived their, the wall had been a door!
I have had many encounters of these type of stories from people that think their house is haunted.
So that might explain those type of ' ghosts ' but what about the type that are acknowledging ' time and space? ' ie standing behind you in your ' time and space. ' These are obviously not ' trace imprints. '
We, or you, refer to these type of happenings as ' ghostly happenings. ' I refer to them as ' spirit happenings. '
The noun ' ghost ' has that certain some thing about it that people like to use because it conjurs up a mysterious mind set.
It would not be as fun using the term ( noun ) ' spirit. '
That is all they really are. They are spirit entities that you are wonderully picking up on. Picking up spirit, feeling their presence, seeing them or hearing them is a wonderful and wonderous thing, that even now after as the years of working as a medium is still a buzz for me. Though you say the atmosphere was not nice. My son once my grandfather, ( my grandfather that had passed years before my sons birth ) but because my grandfather looked different to him, it freaked him. My son had just turned three at the time. I was on the computer in the room and my son just suddenly jumped up and ran over to me and started screaming. He was saying, " daddy, grandad is scaring me. " Not that my grandad or any other spirit would, or even could for that matter hurt him, his lack of knowledge and experience in such matters made him frightened. Where you felt uneasy, and remarked that the atmosphere felt dark/bad, I would probably, not have felt that. Plus you were in a morgue, which in it'self conjurs up all kinds of things in the mind. ;D
Over the years I have come accross many things, terms used to describe ' ghosts/spirits ' There is a strong belief in the mediumship world that some spirit become 'earthbound ' or that they are trapped and need a medium to help them into the ' light! '
The belief is that all of the people here that do not believe in a spirit side, become ' earthbound. ' This
explanation is a favourite one amongst most mediums.
Obviously, as you can guess from my type, it is not my belief.
When you think about, most religions do not believe in a spiritside. The biggest being Christianity and the muslim faith. The numbers of these believers in both of these religions number into their billions, literally. Bearing in mind that there are only six billion of us on the planet. It goes against my belief structure to think that there are several million people that are earthbound because they did not believe in a spiritside. Plus, an up and coming and an ever increasing population all of which are going to be stuck earthbound waiting for a medium to show them the light. ;D
I remember once giving a reading to this elderly lady. I described the spirit gentleman stood before me. The lady understood the gentleman from the description I had given. The gentleman I remember only actually said a few sentences to me the whole reading. One sentence was this, " tell her it was not how I imagined, it is not just earthworms and slugs. " Ofcourse I gave the lady that message even though to me it sounded a little crazy. It turned out that the gentleman was her husband and the reason why he said what he said was because he never believed there were a spirit side. As far as he was concerned he would be eaten by the " earthworms and slugs. " ;D So, there is a classic example of a gentleman going to spirit side that never believed there were one.
The reason why people/mediums believe in this, is because it does sound a little mystical and exciting. Although mediumship does have it's mystical side, sadly it has nothing to do with ' earthbound spirit ' searching for the ' light. '
I would like to hear your comments on what I have put, after all friends, they are just my opinions. ;D
Take care for now.
