I wonder if he had moved away, why he would return to that house - maybe it held good memories for him? It is very interesting although have to say has got me thinking!!!

Laura,
As far as I know he didnt move - I am pretty sure that he died either here or in hospital but this was his last home. I don't know how long he lived here although I could ask the neighbours as they were living round here when he was here. It would be interesting to find out if they knew is he smoked a pipe. Don't really know how to bring up the subject without letting on why I want to know and I don't really want them thinking I am barking mad even though I know I'm not lol.
Now if it turns out that he didnt smoke a pipe then I dont know what else to think. I would assume that he hadnt lived here from when the house was built so maybe it was someone from before his time. I will have to have a chat with next door and see what she says - any suggestions how I can put all of this without her wondering why I'm asking?

Well Dave,
I don't think he did move away but as our dear Derek A says maybe he comes in visitation only. I have only smelt it a few times since we've lived here so he doesnt come that often if thats the case.
But I do wonder if the downstairs room was used as a bedroom as it is always so cold even with the radiator on - hmmm, I will ask next door as well if he slept downstairs. She's gonna think I'm cuckoo I'm sure lol.

Barbara.....try approaching the subject with your neighbour and crack on your just interested who lived there before....and then ask questions about the old man.....she wont think ur mad as women like to be nosey....lol Let us know how you get on.....  |

Regarding the pipe smoke...
My uncle lived in Huntingdon and would only visit us in Leicester once a year, during September as his family would come to shop for xmas. Unfortunately he died (he was decapitated in a motorcycle accident). but every September we would hear the back door open and would smell the tobacco that he used in his ciggies.
I think maybe he came to visit my gran (his mum) who lived with us, just as he had done when he was alive.

Hiya guys...
Well i moved into here about 4 months ago and the guys i live with say that when i did something moved in with me!! lol
We have all heard people coming in the ront door...the door closing and people walking up the stairs only no one is ever there! the cupboard in the hall has opened on several occasions on its own and the deck chairs from it have been taken out and propped up on another wall. Shadows have been seen walking past rooms and things have been moved including the glass fruit plate and fruit all over the floor seconds after us leaving the room
Hmmmm maybe an invo here is needed?!
The place downstairs is empty and yet ppl can be heard in there...on one ocasion it was checked out after noises heard and no one was in there.

hiya...i am always aware that something is there with me all the time...ut actual things happening...it goes through stages...some weeks are more active than others and at the moment it's pretty quiet...id say once or twice a week right now something happens that we find hard to explain.
