Hi Idaho
It's all Laura's fault lol
It only started after I had posted a message saying thaat only my old dog Ben was resident in our house.
Having said that lots of things have happened over the years to me and my grandmother (who passed in 1971). The house it's self is nice and friendly but sometimes, particularly if I have been asked to go and visit someones house when they have been experiencing different things, I tend to find that things happen in my home.
Chris' dad passed in December and I asked him to let Chris have a sign that he was o.k. and that he was still with him. A fridge magnet with a poem titled "Dad" fell off of the fridge. It had never moved before nor has it since, but it definately gave Chris some comfort at the time.
I don't mind my visitors popping up now and again and I like to know that they are still with us.

Hi Idaho
Yes I'm pretty sure on occasion I do bring visitors home and they are welcome as long as they don't cause too much upset.
If I can 'tune in' to the emotion I can usually tell if there is anything to fear and it is very rare that I feel totally uneasy (maybe a dozen times at the most) The majority of the time I feel saddness or complete happiness. It's always a strong emotion, never just ordinary.
Do you know what I mean?

Reply to Paul......Sounds like your place is worse than mine!! Cheers for info on emf meter, i am definately going to buy one, im sure it will come useful at my house and when i visit old hotels etc. Just been to Hungerford for weekend in a really old inn......it was sooooo spooky! I spent most of the weekend sweating hot with fear!! Definately a place i would recommend! Good luck with your paranormal goings on at yours! Keep me updated! Jule

I don't think I do at the moment. A couple of times I have smelt pipe tobacco in our living room and nobody smokes in our house and a couple of other odd things have happened but thats all. My mum and dad's house in Barking definately was. We heard all sorts of things there and I hated being there on my own. Our house in Stanford-le-Hope was another one that had things going on there. I hated living in that house with a passion and whatever was there was not nice. My apartment in Connecticut had a nice someone in it and I was never scared there but lots of stuff happened while I was there. I havent told my daughter (who I live with) about the pipe smoke as I am sure she would move - she's a real scaredy cat - hates anything like that.

hi all my old house was said to be haunted. It took 5 years to sell until we had it cleared and then sold in three days. The upstairs back room was permenantly cold no matter what heating we put in there. no animals would go in there. noises were heard and a man shouting . Many things went missing only to re appear several weeks lateer in a totally different part of the house. If we tried to carry out alterations then all sorts of strange things would happen like tools being moved to different rooms electricity problems , cold spots and smells. Since we left the house has had three new owners , one who went bankrupt and two who divorced. Glad we moved

Gosh, This sounds just like the house in Stanford-le-Hope that we used to live in. I didn't like that house at all and always felt that what ever was in that house was not nice at all. It really felt very nasty. All we knew about it was that it was built on old monastery ground and there were farm cottages where our house used to be. I was so glad when we moved from there.

Hi Happychick, Unfortunately I don't know a lot about the history of the house we live in apart from that it was built around the 1920's. Before we moved in it had been empty for a while and the previous owner was an old man. Maybe he was the pipe smoker - who knows. What was on the land before I dont know but I have a feeling it was just fields. I've only smelt the pipe smoke maybe 3 or 4 times since we've been here and it only lasts a minute or so and then fades away but it is quite a distinctive smell. The funny thing is that our living room ajoins the dining room with an arch. We have the PC in the dining room and even though the living room can be lovely and warm the dining room is always cold and chilly. So I dont know if he used the dining room as a bedroom as he was old or what.
