Psychic ability

The best way of assesing a persons mediumistic ability is to watch their energy when they are working and trying to make a link with the spirit communicator, this makes easier the job of sensing the degree of ability that is available. Now as I have already said, everyone has a portion of potential to develop, and I truly would like to see everyone become their own medium. However as with all other gifts there are those who have naturaly, a high degree of sensitivity or psychic ability. You yourself have been working on strengthening your psychic perseption for the last few years, and it sounds to me as if now that your ability has reached its peak, it is being fine tuned into mediumship. All mediums must aquire a highly developed psychic ability, but not all psychics become mediums. As you know the psychic senses are very attuned to energy vibrations from this world and what is or has occured in the past. Hence a good psychic can read a persons aura, which contains so much information about them, and can also tune into people and events that have left their psychic imprint on objects or places. When the mediumistic ability comes into action we are able to tune into or percieve energy not only of the physical world but alsothe unseen wold of spirit. I dont personally give a prediction of a persons ability until I have seen them in a working situation, I already know that they will posses some degree of psychic ability, but what I would be looking for is any mediumistic potential. Going of what you have told me with reguards to the information that you have recieved it sounds as if that process is in its development, and yes that is often how you recieve information, it just comes into your mind, this is sub-jective clairvoyance/clairaudience. Some times when I am looking at a person, and I become aware of a blueish light around the throat area, I know that this person has a good potential to develop clairaudience. Hope this helps

Happychick said you are the person to talk to. The lady who might be able to help me out. I have put a post "what's happening" on the paranormal board. I hope i've got that right,... I'm completely computer illiterate. It's a bit long winded, LOL. Do you have any idea what's happening and why my kids have had strange things happen too. I an also wondering if you think stuff like this can run through generations. While I'm here..........There is also a post under ghosts "is it me", any ideas on that one as well.

I have had quite a strange experience...my mum and dad are going to turkey for a holiday they had planned all of their flights/transport etc...but I had had a really bad feeling about it...like a gut instinct feeling.
When my mum bought the tickets they had to postpone the trip for a week...and the bad feeling that I had vanished.
My mum rang me last night to say that the train they should have been on in turkey had been invoved in a crash...leaving hundreds dead.
Did I some how have a feeling that this accident would occour.

It is very possible to recieve a premonition about iminante danger, this is what we call our seership, it means that your sensitivity was able to link into the energy of a futuristic event that could have meant danger for your parents. It is all part of our psychic ability - our sixth sense, in this case the power to percieve danger. This does not mean that our future is all totally maped out, it means that along the path of life we will encounter these and many other obstacles, now if we listen to these feelings ( as you felt your intuition ) when something doesnt just feel right we could save ourselves a lot of trouble, so the future means that we have choices in how we choose to react to situations through the power of our free-will.

Maureen I hope that you could answer this question for me please.
When your spirit guide talks to you how do you hear it...is inside your head or outside.

Also last night before I went to sleep I was meditating (I always do to help me sleep) but last night I felt a bubbling in my left ear...and then heard a few words spoken..I couldn't make out what they were though.
Am I going mad...or could this have been my spirit guide...as I did ask for a sign that they exist.

There are two ways that we recieve Clairvoyance -Clairaudience - Clairsentience - these are sub-jective and objective. If you see or hear in a sub-jective way then you see and hear the information inside your head or see on the screen of your mind. If you see or hear in an objective way then you see spirit as solid as you see a person or you hear out side the ear just like any other external sound. If the spirit world are trying to develop your clairaudience then the first initial attempts will sound very muffled or as if you were hearing from a distance and couldnt quite grasp the words or conversation. If your helpers/controls are able to give you this then persevere, each time keep sending a thought to keep trying and ask that they make it clearer for you. It takes time but its well worth the patience. And no I dont think you are going mad!! work with your crystals on the throat area as this is also conected with clairaudience. You will find from time to time that you get sensations or sounds in or around the ear, and take note whether it seems to always come from one side more than the other, I tend to hear from my left side.

Hi Residual Star, yes indeed, when a medium is working in a demonstration they are usually working with one or a combination of the three C's, so you can have clairaudience and clairsentience at the same time, usually one of these develops first, followed by one or both of the latter. All three are what is know as mental mediumship.

Question...

Most of my life I have had feelings and have been able to translate and explain to friends and family. My maternal grandmother was the same. My question is why do I occasionally (about 2 percent of the time) feel very, very afraid? Surely after all this time I should be O.K. all of the time? I know that most psychics have a 'guide' but I don't seem to have one although members of my family who have passed over always seem to spring to mind when I am feeling frightened. When I do get too afraid I ask for the feelings to "go away as you are scaring me", This is sometimes the only way I can feel safe again!

I would appreciate any help and advice you can offer. I told my story in another thread, but here is a condensed version.

I don't know whether what I have is mediumship, some other form of psychic ability, or if I'm just crazy. I don't see things. I don't hear things. I don't smell things. I *just know* things. Like the information pops into my head, and most of the time I think I'm just being paranoid, or too negative, and I ignore it. For some reason, I only get negative feelings, and I was in a drumming circle for several years, and asked one of the women there for help...and all she said was... "Do you ever get any positive feelings? Or are the all so negative?" In recent years.... I've just given up....totaly.... And whatever ability I had seems to have faded. The only thing that has happened recently was sensing a spirit in the basement of my fiance's house. It's like I've lived 2 lives..... The one before my wreck (which I predicted) and before the death of my best friend (which I sensed....but was unsure of what I was sensing..and doubted myself) and the life I have now...Where I feel like a great void. Can you please help me? I had the crazy thought that my friend ment for me to become some kind of Psychic Detective...but I feel like a fool for even mentioning it. Please... I am desperate for help.

Hi RavenWolf......I get the same feelings as you.....I just "know" things....ideas just pop into my head and sometimes they happen.......example: my ex and I were watching the TV when the whole hunt for Sarah and Jessica's killer was on (the huntly murders) and I wasn't actually really watching the TV, I think I was reading, but my ex was....and as soon as Ian Huntly came on when they interviewed him....I just said, out of nowhere "He did it".........now my ex was never really that interested about my beliefs so he just laughed it off....but the very next day Ian Huntly was arrested, and my ex (and I ) were totally shocked!!!! I wasn't even thinking when I said it, and it turned out to be true.......but the information had just popped into my head!!!.......and this sort of thing happens to me all the time.....although I'm sorry to say that I don't know whether it's mediumship or psychic ability or just plain intuition!!.........the answer to that, I'm afraid....I'll leave to Rainbow lady to answer!!!!
