Psychic ability

As a teaching medium I am often asked by students,' how do we know if we have a psychic ability?' Well everyone has psychic ability, we just use it to a greater or lesser degree. The word psychic is derived from the Greek word meaning soul, as we all have a soul, we must all have psychic ability. This ability can be strengthened and attuned, so that our sense of perception becomes stronger and more responsive to energies and influences not only of this world but also the spirit world.

Rainbow Lady, where would someone start if they wanted to tune in to their psychic ability. I have had many experiences which I call pyschic, i.e I have had a few happen to me, like knowing that someone would phone, then they do, these are normally phone calls from people who dont often phone me daily yet I just get a feeling that they will phone.

Hi Residual Star, yes things like knowing who is on the phone before you answer it, or thinking of someone you havent seen for some while, then suddenly bumping into them is our seership in operation. This means that your senses are operating just ahead of the normal earthly time scale. This used to be developed in the old day of ancient Rome and Greece etc, to develop this stronger you can use things like meditation or better still sitting in the energy with your eyes closed and just allowing your five senses to become super sensitive, to be aware of small details. Allow your ears to search for sound from your internal and external surrounding. Watch the screen of the mind, what pictures/colours/images are drifting across the screen of the mind. Let your skin surface (which is very sensitive to any energy change) register feelings. You may feel as if a cob web were touching your face and arms as the skin becomes sensitive and ticklish. This is energy you will be feeling. Even your sense of smell will become greater as the spirits often use smell as a memory trigger. All our five senses have their psychic counterpart, using them to a greater degree helps to attune them. Also some exercises that are better done in a group or with at least two people will be very benificial.

Thanks Residual Star, be patient and dedicated and the results will come. Remember we have spent xxxxamount of years concentrating only on the material world and not enough on our natural soul/spiritual abilities. Birth and Death are the two most natural occurances of life, both are a leap into the unknown. Through my work I know that the unseen world has a far greater natural influence upon our physical life and physical world than we could ever dream of. To me it makes sense to know as much as we are allowed to.

Hi everyone, to continue with my thread on psychic ability I need to fill you in on a bit of my background. As well as being a working medium for 16 years I also have been a tutor at a college in Essex for 6 years. Here we concentrate upon the development and investigation of mediumistic development and spiritual topics. We get students from all over the world, hence I get to travel quite a lot to teach overseas. I would be delighted to work with anyone on the site who is genuinely intersted in developing or understanding the mechanics of mediumship. My passion lies in the teaching about this natural gift and the responsibilities it entails. It is not something to be taken lightly nor is it a thing to fear, the (dead) hate that word! are sometimes more alive and aware than most of our living world. As already stated we all have some degree of psychic ability, but not all psychics will become mediumistic. Yet all mediums must attain a highly developed psychic ability. The psychic is the doorway into mediumship, and as it is a natural god given gift, a key if you like, we can only benifit from knowing all there is to know about our multi faceted being. Over the tombs and temples of the ancient world was often written the words, 'Man know thy self, and you shall know god' whatever power we percieve our god to be, we think of it as Infinite and Eternal, so too is the soul of man.

i would really like to work with your advice to develop my abilities further....with guidance i have actually travelled on the astral (only once though) and it was an amazing experience...have been told not to do it on my own yet as it can be dangerous! i also meditate about 4 times a week and always hear a buzzing noise which i have been told is spirit trying to communicate! additionally i write poetry and recently when i clear my mind poetic verse comes into my head which i feel the need to write down and alot of it is very spiritual! i have been told this may be spirits way of communicating with me......any advice for poor confused little old me???

I have been to various spiritulists churches, the mediums there have told me I have the ability, and to tune in. However, they seem unwilling to help. I have asked my spirit guide to help me, and have a few strange things happen since then. I have also been told I have the gift of healing, how can I work on this?? I am so interested in tuning in to my abilities, but lack the help. I have read your previous post, and will practice on what you have said. Anymore guidance would be appreciated

hi...like the others i have been told i have the ability but i am unsure how to develop it....i can sense things and pick up on names and people, but not that often...when i do pick up on something i tend to close the link down without realising it...how can i keep it open?...i also get very emotional at times for no reason and pick up on things....again the link closes....any advice would be appreciative....thanx

Hi GHOSTSHIP, yes every body has some degree of psychic ability, but some seem to have a higher awareness of their psychic faculty. If you are one of these people then there is good chances that you could develope that into a working ability even perhapse mediumship. Check out the advice given on the mediumistic slot. Meditation and exercises to stretch your psychic senses are very valuable. If you can join a circle for development then thats even better.

could you tell me why it is everytime i try to meditate i hear noises around me like shuffling (thats the only way i can describe it) which startle me and break my concentration!! is it just my senses picking up on things?

Hi Linda, yes when you meditate you open up your sense of awareness, which means that all your five senses operate a little more sensitively than when you are in normal waking consciousness. Also if your sense of hearing is very keen it could indicate that you have a degree of clairaudience. Try to pay attention on the exact sounds you are hearing, it is nothing to be nervous of, it is just part of your sensitivity in action.

Thankyou Maureen thats a big help!!! Its when you can hear what isnt physically there isnt it!! I know I can do psychometry, but its not all the time!! But I have had many experiences when i can hear talking, or my name being called when no one is in... or if I ask my friends if they have just called me they say no! But I really didnt think nothing of it! Perhaps I should try and learn more on the subject and see if i can expand on it!! Thanks again! :vom3:

I have some psychic ability, i guess i would say im sensitive, i can pick up some things but its more feelings than anything else. but im also a believer that we all have abilities its just a case of opening up to it.
