it has been mentioned on the most haunted forums that there has been some activity at southend pier. Apparently a workman saw a full apparition, it sounds like a police officer saw him running and asked why - he had seen a ghost.
There is a lot of building work going on there at the moment so maybe they are disturbing something. We will be going there tonight to see if there's anything going on

I have spent so much time on southend pier!
I used to live on the Kursaal estate and spent many a summers day on the pier fishing! i used to work at peter pans too when i was a youngster!
I never heard of the pier being haunted! the queens hotel though, i heard that was!

i used to work at peter pans to...lol when i was 16. The westcliff hotel is haunted but its an area thats closed off. I've also worked there and heard the stories. I hadn't heard anything about the pier before but a workman saw something and it makes sense as the amount of building they are doing will have really disturbed the area, all that green up pier hill is gone. Only saw it driving past today but will take some pics tonight and get em on the site

*pops in from MH forum*  Hiya, I also popped down there yesterday. The workers scarpered when they saw me taking pictures LMAO but I chatted to the fella who owns the restarount nearest the old steps. He said he wasn't surprised in the slightest that they had seen a ghost! Did you come up with anything Laura? The area is sealed off by that fence so pretty hard to get too near. |

Well every pic we took was ful of 'orbs' so that will be ust and sand etc and it was a building site lol so to be expecte, we sensed something a couple of times. i went to the builder's offices toay, they didn't know what i was talking about but he will ask around and phone me. There is a possibility of going in one night with a medium in a few weeks but nothing has been arranged yet.
what we really need to know is whereabouts and how long ago the apparition was seen.

Hello
I am new to this site as have recently moved to Essex.
I saw this post and had to add something that might be of interest.
I often take long walks on the beach and on many occassion have 'seen' a figure under the pier.
I have also had the experience of somehow had the feeling of a man hanging from under the pier.

Do you always see the same figure/person in the same spot or does it move along the pier? It could possibly be a spirit doing the same tasks that it would have done while alive, more like a recording. I hope that makes some sense.

Hello Star The figure I have seen in under the pier, which is strange  I have read, with great interest, the notes that have been placed on here, concerning the pier. Yes Star, it does makes sense, it could be a recording. When the tide is out, I often walk along the beach from Westcliff , under the pier, past Peter Pans and out the other side. I will report back if I see or notice anything else. Does anybody know of any ghosts or ? along the top of the cliffs, near Queen Victorias statue? As I have had some experiences there as well. |
