I dont see any harm if your talking about the site as opposed to the current business situated there - im not going to say anything about the current owner (who i know as a person as opposed to a host). But the site is an amazing one - its a real shame that the museum is gone - it was amazing as im sure you've seen from the pictures and reports on here. I spent a few months living in the museum up until just after it was sold - and it was a fantastic place. The activity there was incredible and i had my best and scariest paranormal experiences ever whilst i was there. Its good to hear it is still active, and i understand about the moods and depression the site can induce - myself and many others have also experienced this. I cant list the experiences here - theres to many ! Some were very unpleasant - a nice one was watching the guards walk the perimeter one night when we came out of the air raid shelter - were you in my group that night kev? It was amazing. Also the night the pen went flying off the bannisters and hit the anson in the RAF room - has to be the best haunted location ive ever been to and its a shame its gone or we would still be going to this day.

Yes I remember that night, what a great place to investigate. I think it was the next day when I woke up and had the big scratch on my back, no idea how it got there.
Like you said far to many things went on to list them all.

Hi I'm new to the site so greetings to you all.
I'm hoping that someone out there can give me some advice. I recently moved to Braintree (from London) & since i moved into my new house very strange things have been going on.
The most recent was in December when i was reading in bed around midnight & i heard the Frontdoor open, someone walk through the hallway, & open the kitchen door & enter the kitchen. Needless to say i thought i had a burglar so rushed down the starirs to find....yes you guessed it there was nobody there.
There’s been many other occurrences similar to that & although I don’t feel frightened of the house I cant ignore the fact that there is something very odd about the place, which makes me feel a bit uneasy
I sort of tried hinting to the neighbours to see if they have had similar experiences but they didn’t take the bate.
Any tips anyone can give me on finding the history of the house – I didn’t have much luck in the local library.
Cheers - Flight

Hi Jan.
Whilst walking on Dartmoor a few years ago, i took shelter from a sudden storm (you know what dartmoor is like) in some old ruined gun powder mills. As i was sitting there I swear I saw a man in a three cornerd hat standing by some trees watching me. But within a blink it was gone.
Trick of the light...? Probaly never know.
Cheers - Flight

Hi Flight, once again welcome to The site. When it comes to finding out the history of your house, one of the best places to start is with the neighbours. I had some strange experiences when I first moved into my house (and it's not even 40years old yet !). See my entry under 'is your home haunted'. I believe that maybe old occupants of the house or the land it's on sometimes come to visit to see what the new owner is like especially if you are doing any renovation work.
What I did is invite the neigbours round for a welcome housewarming informal dink. Not mentioning any ghostly happenings, just ask them about the previous owners of the house. You'll find they can't wait to tell you (especially after a glass or three of wine.)
The Library may be a great source to find out what the land may have been used for before the house was built. Old maps are good for this. There is also the land registry who maybe able to help, but I think you have to pay for that ! Maybe you could find a local historian via the internet or library who may be able to tell you some more.
You could also invite the Essex Paranormal team around for a mini investigation ! (we are all very friendly and fully house trained !) We have some very good 'sensitives' who can pick up on all manner of things.
I hope this helps. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. If you have any more questions, then please let us know.

I have had so much going on at my lake, it all started when the fishermen were reporting all sorts of strange things, I had the place investigated and wow what a night, I am now paranormal mad, we get orbs everytime we go there, we do board work and always chat to someone, we have a particular young girl come to talk everytime, we decided to run 2 at the same time to see if she could talk between them, she talked on one but kept leaving to have a look what was going on at the other table, 2 of the people there got a message from loved ones, I could tell you lots more but prob not enough space. I find it all so facinating. There is definatly nothing nasty there just very friendly spirits the place has such a calming effect on everyone that goes there, I don't let on much to the fishermen who have fished there with no probs don't want to frighten them off but I have lost at least 4, don't know why lol.
