This is a place that makes my hair stand on end. I wont go there unless I have too. There is something not nice there. I know the Most Haunted team did a live show there and Derek supposedly found the spirit but I had these feelings years before this programme. Maybe it is something to do with all that happened there dureing the witch trials. Has anyone else been to this place and if so, did they feel anything unusual.

I was there a few months ago, just to take photo's outside unfortunately, but the menu looked GREAT mmmmmm ;D
Matthew Hopkins interrogated accused witches in the upstairs rooms and members of staff who knew nothing about Hopkins described seeing a 'very real man' fitting the description of Hopkins.
The cottages adjoining it are also said to be haunted and the shoreline opposite is allegedly haunted by the screams of accused witches. I must admit though, that the screams of seagulls were pretty scary and did sound very wierd.

I think Mistley Towers are far more spooky

I would say Furze Hills in Mistley is far more haunted.
For the past week me and my friends have been there till 3/4am looking at the shadow figures running across the grounds. We walk anywere near the treeline and we hear moans groans, tree branches being displaced by movement etc.
the mist comes down on the ground thick and fast and hair stands up on end like electricity!
freaky stuff!
