Ok, memory is not what it once was....in my 4th decade now and trying hard to remember what I got up to and investigated back in the mid 70's.... If these places are still there that is Hmmmmmm sorry about vagueness. Ok the first one is/was called Drummaids, a strange field/clearing just up from the primary school in Staples Road next to the forest. It can be reached by turning off York Hill along Forest Way ?? anyway there was always a local legend that this place was haunted by a female ghost who wandered around the clearing - but although it can get creepy (and cold) there nothing was ever witnessed. Anyone else know of this one ??

And While I am thinking on the subject...Trapps Hill.
Now this has always been associated with thingy Turpin, who's ghost was suppose to ride down (or up) the hill at night, only ever being heard and never seen.
Of this one I cannot personally vouch any investigations... but my grandfather always asserted that he had heard the sound of the horses hooves galloping fast in the dead of night when he was a boy. so perhaps in the 1910's
Any one with more information on this ??

Epping Forest is reputedly haunted by Turpin who's ghost has been seen riding down Trapp's Hill. It is said he robbed an elderly lady living nearby and left her to die. I was there recently.
Much phenomena at Epping can easily be explained away due to strong magnetic fields that cross the forest.
