Hi all,
As a long standing shortwave listener - that is, radio as a hobby - I discovered a book a while back called 'The Ghost of 29 Mc/s' - Megacycles now being written as MegaHertz (MHz). Have to trip upstairs to find the author but it was about the Spiracom Project.
Have always tried to see if i can come up with something on 29MHz - top end of the High Frequency Band, known as the 10M band to the hams but with very little on it in reality. I've been a radio listener since I was 15, and whilst at sea got my professional 'tickets' for operating VHF and HF radio on a restricted license - but as I am no longer at sea, they're just a testimony to my past!
I own a Grundig Satellit 800 - probably the bst hobby SW Receiver on the market for general listening (and should be at £500 a thro!) and am trying to see if there is anything out there. Lots of white noise and crepitating ether - but as yet have heard nothing. No external antenna - just the set's own whip.
Anyone else heard about this portion of EVP? Anyone else using radio as a (sic) medium? I'd love to know if anyone has results, knows frequencies, can provide tips?
Is there anyone who has some knowledge of this area of EVP?
Regards,
Jonty

Wow, how interesting! I must admit to knowing nothing about this, but find it fascinating. Please do keep us posting if you find anything!

The book is fascinating, eminently readable and very thought provoking - but I feel the latest film 'White Noise' will actually do it a great deal of damage as a form of communications study to enable more paranormal research.
I also authored a column in a radio magazine while I was a student and received many letters from people who claimed they had heard non radio transmissions - usually in places that have a historical event attached to them.
As for myself, I have never heard anything - but I'll keep listening and, of course, report back.

Since ghosts are supposed to be a electromagnetical energy, perhapes it will only pick it up in a close proximity, have you been taking it out or listening from home? I was recently thinking about taking my wind up radio on a local investigation, techincally should anything be near me the radio would go hay-wire. I didnt take it in the end because we would of had to listen to either static all night or a bad radio station on AM, (i concidered FM band to be high power) but hey keep trying matey
