In my opinion EVP's even if totally genuine and real, simply cannot be trusted.
of all the different ways to prove the paranormal these are problem at the bottom of the pile, right beneath magic tricks like table tilting.

I have to agree with Paul on this one, but I'm interested to know why you think that they are so untrustworthy.
On a recent investigation I was present when Paul and LLaura set up the equipment. I was present through out the time spent there and I was present when we took away the equipment.
I have also heard the voice recorded and I am convinced that it is genuine.

He is of the opinion that they cannot be trusted because he is the Big Cheese - 'nuff said.

EVPS are probabbly best evidence to have, If a recorder is in a locked room, even if it's a Camera it can pick an evp up, anything that records can pick an EVP up.
But it's great because if the rooms locked, no ones in that room and you get a voice speaking, then who is it?
Dictacphones and camcorders are not designed to recieve Radio Frequencies (They are not radios) so it will not be a radio broadcast.
Whitenoise is a bit more of a harder thing to use and proove! cause you could be picking up a broadcast!

Hi Jamie, The best practice in my opinion for obtaining EVP's is to select a favourable area within your haunted location and begin recording. Start by introducing yourself even being polite by asking permiission. Then ask a specific question allowing a 5 to 10 second interval to give possible entities a chance to reply before continuing with further questions. Before reviewing the audio clip process to increase amplification by 10 db. This alows for any subaudilble EVP's that are present to be heard. This beats listening to hours upon hours of white noise. This is how I go about trying to record EVP's. Regards, Stefan PS I hope this snippet of information helps others check out EVP recording',
