Hello to you all
As I am new to this area and new to this site, could anybody please let me know if The Kursal or pier been investigated at all?
Also, has anybody done any investigations in Westcliff on sea or Leigh on sea?
Has anyone got any information on these areas please?

The Kursal is one id like to do but dont fancy getting mugged and stabbed then finding my car burnt out psml ;D
I have heard stories about the kursal being haunted.
Also yes we have visited southend pier after hearing about an apparition being seen (see haunted essex board) but we just got lots of sand and dust in our photos and didn't experience anything apart from feeling like we were being watched.
I would like to do an overnight vigil there though one day as it used to all be old houses and the fact the ground has been disturbed has aggravated some energies i think.
We go to Canewdon a bit, and Hadleigh Castle both are said to be haunted as is priory park.

Hello and thank you for the details  I totally understand how you feel about the Kursal,,but such a shame that such a historic and once interesting area such as it was,has turned into a 'no go zone' for many  I often walk my dog and have often felt the feeling of being watched. I recently was walking under the pier when I saw a dark figure of a man,which just faded away. I also get the feeling that a man was once found hanging from under the pier itself but cant find any records to support this You mentioned that old houses where their once. Where was that? Also, on the stretch of gardens in westcliff,on the cliffs top, I have often felt the feeling of being extremley cold and often get images of people walking their in victorian clothes. How strange is that!  If you do any vigils on these areas, I would love to be able to come along Thank you for all the information Regards to you |

I mean in front of the pier, the seafront. There were old houses there. I think the recent building work there has disturbed things.
We were told of one of the workmen seeing a ghost there. (see southend pier thread, haunted essex for full story).
It would not surprise me if the cliff area was haunted. Southend was also badly bombed during the war. Much worse than i first thought.

oh, I never knew there was old houses at the front? That makes it more interesting to me As you mentioned before, the ground has been developed so this may have awakened the presence that I have felt. The workman who saw something was interesting reading I wonder if anyone else has felt the presence, that I have felt many times,at the top of the cliffs near Queen Victorias statue? Maybe I should post a thread to ask? |
