I have seen a long stringy, spiralling orb, and I can honestly say that this was not dust or anything else I can explain, it happened during a high activity period, during a vigil.
I am not saying that is is spirit, but I have exhausetd my (limited) knowledge of what else it could be.

So, if you have it on tape or photo and you take a good long look at it, maybe you'll see it could be part of a body!?!
Funny thing is, that these elongated orbs are always shiny white! At least the ones I've seen are. I wonder why these don't come in colour?

The one I saw was like a white piece of sting with a tanslucent something around it.

Cherill, I don't know what there called, I still refer to them as ors although you are right they are not actually orbs, although they do seem to have orbs in them. The one I saw was a bit like this

If that makes sense, with the 0 beings orbs, and it spiralled as it moved and had like a translucent veil over it as well.

My visit to Woodchester was really quite good - and I thought I'd managed to capture a STL on video, until I played it on the TV and realised it was a spiders' thread! Tut, tut!
Never mind eh, perhaps you'll capture one and we can then celebrate! (Yipee!).

Hi all!
Just had a thought about orbs and stl's - if orbs are orbs (obviously), and STL's are orbs, what are the more solid, stiffer light energies then? You know - the ones that look like rods? Are they orbs as well or are they just rods?
Do they come in colour too or are they just shiny white like the STL's?
So many questions, so few answers. Ho-Hum!!

No, these 'orbs' are not ectoplasm. I thought ectoplasm was an energy that has been generated by a spirit using the energy of a person, usually a medium. Well that's what the old books say!
Some have called these orbs psychic rods but I don't think they are that either.
No - I'm not an orb fanatic either. Just an ASSAP Investigator trying to investigate what orbs are and where they come from. I would also like to try to classify different types of orbs if it's possible. Without discussion over these matters, it would never be done! One day, when all this is over, people will either be able to laugh them off as rubbish - or show them off with pride knowing that they are indeed paranormal!
