Hi,
I’m Mo (Moggalina)
I am a core team member, but as yet, unless you have read my profile on our main website, you wont have heard much from me at all. I can only apologise for this and say that I have been otherwise engaged.
I am interested in all things paranormal and many things on a spiritual level.
I would like to share with you, some of the things I have learnt over some years of study and learning from books, magazines, websites and courses, and from people I have met over the years, on courses and in my daily life.
I have long been fascinated by the beauty, energy and subtle power of Crystals. There is already some fabulous info on Crystals here, but I’d like to add some of my favourites, including stuff that I’ve learnt and also my own opinions. To follow is a brief overview of some of my favourites:

ROSE QUARTZ
(Being a slightly romantic Taurean, this is my absolute favourite)
Magic – this crystal fosters an appreciation of beauty and will inspire feelings of love and friendship.
Healing – Rose quartz rapidly releases feelings of emotional stress, ( a cautionary note, the effect can be so intense that it can be uncomfortable, to avoid this balance with grounding stones)
This crystal also helps to uncover underlying causes of other problems such as negative self image.
Chakra – Heart

RHODONITE
(I love to wear Rose Quartz but whenever I do, I always also wear some Rhodonite as this is a perfect stone to bring balance and help keep a Rose Quartz lover grounded)
Magic – Rhodonite is traditionally associated with sympathetic magic. The pink colours link us with the underlying energy of creation while the brown/black veining can enable us to use these fine level forces.
Wear or hold Rhodonite during meditation to attune to more subtle vibrations.
To help you develop clairaudience abilities (subtle hearing) place a piece at the sacral Chakra and a piece close to each ear.
Healing – Rhodonite supports us during times of transformation, especially if the change is not of our own choosing.
This crystal enables us to express strong, genuinely felt emotions and helps us to direct our emotions towards our goals.
Rhodonite can also help us to dispel negative states of mind, confusion and anxiety.
Chakra – Rhodonite, as a two-colour crystal is useful in many areas.


QUARTZ (CLEAR)
This has to be the most useful and one of the most subtly powerful (due to it’s purity) of all crystals. I recommend to anyone that you choose yourself a decent sized wand, double point, or pendulum in this crystal to use as your main/ Control or Master Crystal.
However, this is personal preference and a selection of wands and pendulums in various crystals for various purposes is ultimately preferable, but if your budget is tight then Clear Quartz is an excellent all-rounder to start off with.
Magic – Clear quartz has the ability to amplify the energies of stones nearby. (This is generally very useful however as we are just entering a new ‘Age of Aquarius’, beware as this enhances the power of all crystals, and their power will already be much stronger than usual.)
Clear quartz can also help to reveal the truth. This Crystal is widely used for divination and scrying.
Chakra – All

AMETHYST
A beautiful crystal available in many forms, from the palest of lilacs to a deep violet, in small to large tumblestones and palmstones, chevron - displaying bands of violet and white, and also extraordinary clusters, in forms such as rose or cave formations. Ametrine, also very beautiful, is a blend of violet and yellow, created by heat, either naturally or artificially.
Amethyst is an excellent tool in all forms of spiritual work and can help to bring about spiritual calm.
Magic – this crystal helps to maintain equilibrium in all situations and balances priorities.
Healing – Amethyst encourages self control, calms emotions and brings stability. This crystal is known for helping with practical applications of ones imagination and aids meditation.
Amethyst has always been known to aid calm and peaceful sleep, however, new findings are showing that due to it’s ability to absorb electromagnetic energy, this is no longer the case. If you have previously been recommended to place Amethyst beside your bed to aid sleep, I would now recommend that you replace this with Rose Quartz, preferably, (in my opinion) in each corner of your bed, either on the floor, or if this is not practical, tuck it into the corners of your sheets!
Chakra - Crown (amethyst)

TIGERS EYE
Magic – Protects against the evil eye, demons and black witchcraft – diverts unwanted energy and confuses your opposition. Golden Tigers eye, symbolises a connection with the sun, helping us to connect with deep intuition and psychic impressions.
Healing – Releases congestion of digestion or the mind, such as confusion. Soothes, both physically and mentally. Builds confidence. Encourages contact with other people.
Chakra – Root/Base.

Hi all,
Here's some more info on some of my favourite crystals that I have in my collection.

CITRINE
Magic - Citrine sustains all processes in nature. This crystal incubates energy. Citrine is an excellent stone to keep around you if you wish to develop your psychic abilities, especially if you're having trouble trusting and acting on your own instincts. This crystal also dispels negative energy.
Healing - Efficient at relieving disorders of the gallbladder, heart, kidneys, liver, colon and digestive system. It is restful and warming and provides a sunny energy to stimulate the mind in winter months.
This crystal is actually amethyst that has been subjected to heat which produces it's wonderful golden yellow hues Due to it's rarity in this natural formation, artificially heat treated amethyst is often sold. Purists may prefer to try to source natural citrine but it has no bearing on the energies of this crystal if only heat treated sources are available.
Chakra - Sacral

MOSS AGATE
Holding a piece of moss agate can be likened to having the concentrated energy of all nature in your hand. Patterns of fern, moss, or leaf can be seen in this optimistic stone, which attunes us to the natural world.
Healing - Helps to open up congested or constricted areas such as circulation or lymph. Releases pent up emotion, increases optimism and boosts our sense of our own potential.
Chakra - Heart.

BLOODSTONE
Magic - was historically used to aid clairvoyance. This stone offers protection from loss of life energy. A warriors stone, influenced by the planet Mars, it was linked with healing wounds and stopping blood loss.
Healing - Stimulates blood circulation. Provides motivation and encouragement. Encourages practical use of clairvoyant skills. Brings strength and general good health.
Chakra - Heart and Root/Base

MILKY QUARTZ
This is the crystal that I currently use in pendulum form on paranormal investigations.
Magic - symbolises the energy of the moon. Helps to ease us into the universal flow. represents purification and cleansing and harnesses the power of the light.
Healing - This feminine stone gently clears blocked energy and gently releases difficult emotions. It can disperse negative thoughts and calms an over active mind.
Chakra - All, especially crown.

UNAKITE
Magic - Crystals of more than one colour can be very useful during meditation, allowing you to balance your focus.
Healing - Two coloured stones can be even more powerful in healing. Unakite is coloured pink and green, the colours of the heart. As both colours work on the same energy this enhances the overall effect. Good for balancing problems of the heart.
Chakra - Heart.

BLUE LACE AGATE
Magic - Allows exploration of the subtle planes of existence. Conveys hidden messages.
Healing - Cools and calms any areas where there is a build up of energy in the body.
Settles an overactive mind. Gently nurtures and soothes the emotions. Engenders feelings of belonging in the world.
Chakra - Throat

WHITE HOWLITE
Magic - In the East white is worn as the colour of mourning ( cleanliness and purity), representing the soul shedding the body and moving on to the spiritual world. White Howlite promotes calm and protection.
Healing - White stones bring coolness easing stress. Also used for problems with the teeth and bones.
Chakra - Crown

LABRADORITE
Magic - This crystal has an iridescence, which when worn acts aas a reflective shield to protect the wearers aura. Labradorite heightens our ability to shift awareness outside the normal range.
Healing - Increases our ability to focus on personal issues without letting external influences affect us. It will ease the symptoms or a relationship that drains your energy reserves.
Chakra - Third Eye

Hi all,
Some more about the qualities, magic and healing energies of some of my favourite crystals in my collection that may interest you. If I think of more info on a particular crystal, I will modify or update items as I go along.

JADE
magic - Jade helps living people connect with their dead ancestors and to protect the spirits of the dead.
Healing - Balances the heart, helping to improve our relationships with others. Increases a sense of belonging. Enhances our ability to act effectively and appropriately. Jade relaxes us on a deeper level accelerating the healing process so is also good to use in conjunction with other crystals.
Chakra - Heart.

SODALITE
I like this one as I believe it helps us to trust in our subtle feelings and intuitions, where we may ordinarily dismiss something as 'just a feeling', we can connect so our fears about spiritual matters can be resolved.
Magic - Sodalite can also help the transmission of messages over vast distances.It expands our awareness during meditation. It's gentle spiritual energy encourages completeness, unifying the sub-concious, the concious and higher conciousness.
Healing - particularly effective at quietening and stabilizing, encouraging calmness on every level of being. Clarifies perception. Helps to cleanse the lymphatic system and enhances the immune system.
Chakra - Third Eye.

CARNELIAN
Magic - Worn (often historically as amulets) for courage, confidence and protection from harm.
Healing - Releases stress and trauma. Enhances creativity. An excellent all rounder in healing, warming and stabilizing.
Chakra - Sacrum.

YELLOW OSCITE
Magic - Yellow stones are used in magic associated with the sun. This crystal imparts energy and vitality and helps promote courage. It is a good one to carry with you to strengthen self confidence. It help you to develop you communication skills and to express yourself clearly.
Chakra - Solar Plexus

AVENTURINE
Magic - Promotes spiritual growth.
Healing - Calms, stabilises the emotions, encourages positivity. Promotes gratitude for what you have.
Chakra - Heart

BLUE AGATE
Magic - This is a stone of the mind, it helps to expand our conciousness on all levels.
Healing - Helps to bring feelings of tranquility. Blue Agate is helpful in easing phobias and panic attacks. This is a good crystal to use during meditation, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed by life.
Chakra - Third Eye.

TURQUOISE
Another of my favourites, I especially find two-coloured crystals very useful.
Magic - Enhances and strengthens the aura. This incredibly useful crystal is excellent to have around when developing psychic and spiritual skills as the turquoise energies tune us intuitively to the spirit worlds, whilst the yellow-brown energies help keep us grounded. It can also be useful during meditation and astral travel.
Healing - Turquoise neutralises environmental negativity. It helps to calm emotions and an over active mind. Its peaceful energy helps us to remain calm during emotional unrest and develop friendships rather than enemies.

Hi all,
Some more crystal information for you, all these are useful crystals that I have in my own collection. I realised you may want some info to help you identify crystals so I have included this here, also I will go back and add identification to my previous entries as soon as I get a chance.

GARNET
Identification - There are two types of garnet:
Pyrope types, which are predominantly red and include hessonite/essonite, a brownish red, (also known as cinnamon stone); rhodolite garnet, a mauve-red to rose-purple stone; succinite, an amber-yellow to orange stone; grossularite, a pale green garnet; urvarovite, a brown or black coloured stone and transvaal jade, another green type.
Almondine types, these vary from demantoid, a green variety to melanite, black, to topazolite, a yellow variety of almandine garnet.
I have a black almandine garnet, which when held up to the light, displays deep red, almost iridescent inclusions.
Magic - a travellers amulet, garnet will protect you during all types of travel, a great one for commuters. Garnet is a great energiser and will help you get new projects underway.
Healing - the colour of your garnet will determine the focus of its use during healing, but all garnets speed up the healing process. Red garnets have a powerful energising effect and should only be used for short periods, green garnets are more gentle, but are still used to stimulate. Red can help with people who are at a low ebb, or to boost a flagging labido, whereas green is known for attracting business success.
Chakra, red - root/base, green - heart.

AMAZONITE
Identificaton - This is a variety of the common mineral feldspar. It varies from pale turquoise to deep mid green, sometimes with paler striations.
Magic - This stone is said to help you to tap into ancestral energies, it can aid you in accessing ancient memories, including those of past lives.
Healing
Spiritually - it has a balancing energy and is useful during sudden life changes such as moving house, a new job, marriage or childbirth. It can release blocked emotions, help with communication and inspire creativity.
Physically - it can help with problems of the nervous system end the ears, nose and throat.
Chakra - heart and throat.

AMETRINE
Identification - Ametrine is formed when amethyst is affected by heat, say near volcanic areas. This causes citrine to form, so you have amethyst and citrine in the one stone. It is a beautiful quarts with a blend of violet and yellow.
Magic - Spiritual cleansing with positive energies, ametrine aids in meditation and spiritual fulfilment. This one brings us a connection to the spiritual realm.
Healing
Spiritually - ametrine brings a sense of calm with the addition of citrine bringing a sunny element of creativity and joy, evoking a cheerful attitude to life and work.
Physically - Ametrine is great for relieving tension and releasing negativity.
Chakra - useful for many, especially the third eye and solar plexus.

AVENTURINE
Identification - Aventurine is found in three main colours, green, red-brown and blue. It can be easily identified from other members of the quartz family by its fine sparkling inclusions.
Magic - the energy of this stone feels fresh and uncomplicated. It can be used for cleansing the aura. It is an excellent stone to hold in your hand whilst meditating and connecting with a clearer path.
Healing
Spritually - aventurine helps to calm the emotions, aiding us with decision making.It connects us to the idea that it doesn't matter which path we take, because it will always, ultimately be the right path for us.
Green aventurine promotes spiritual growth and gratitude for what we have.
Red-brown aventurine is a good relaxant and encourages happiness.
Blue aventurine promotes tranquillity.
Physically - aventurine has long been used to releave dis-ease of the eyes and to improve eyesight. In healing, a crystal therapist may also use aventurine to soothe eczema, rashes and sunburn.
Chakra - blue - throat, green - heart, red-brown - base/root.

EMERALD
Identification - Emerald varies from a plastic looking grassy green with possible cloudy inclusions to the rarer , high quality deep green transparent stones. Lower grades may also be labelled as green beryl, (beryl being the family to which emerald belongs).
Magic - Emerald is associated with prophecy and foresight. Emerald reveals truth.
Healing
Spiritually - Emerald helps to ease hidden fears and anxieties, bringing them to the fore, speeding the cleansing and healing process. It can also enhance our compassionate side.
Physically - Emerald can help with healing and recovery of the heart and is another of the green stones long used to soothe over strained eyes.
Chakra - Heart.
