Hi everyone
I would appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on this please.
I have, as you probably know been in and still am, in the process of booking investigations for next year. Having had a very good invest at The Ragged School I approached them again for a return in'09. They have however come under new management and the pricing has increased considerably. To go back we would be looking at somewhere around the £50pp mark. What I would like to know is your views on prices.
Is this kind of money acceptable? Would you pay that for an investigation? What price do you draw the line at paying?
Any other feedback on this will be gratefully received. If you want to email or pm me with your opinions thats fine
Thanks John

I think that in the current economic climate you could force a harder bargain in negotiations with the administration team.
Even the 'professional' ghost hunt organizers are struggling to fill places for their events at the moment and are offering huge discounts / two for one offers on their hunts.
Whilst ‘credit crunch’ is clearly the phrase of the moment, regardless of whether it exists or not, it’s having a visible impact on people’s spending.
Even if they have the money to spare, there will be the tendency to put money aside rather than spend in on non-essential items.
Therefore, going forward, I can see many of these event organizers pulling out of the market, leaving the venues desperate for groups to fill the void that has been left. I really don’t think that the venues can be too greedy at the moment.
Turning to what individuals may pay, clever marketing can always generate demand, but here you’d be introducing an (enforced) increase on a venue you’ve already investigated at recently, at a lower price, just when people are losing the will to spend money unnecessarily.
Just my view.
Kind Regards Baruc.

baruc makes a very good point, as usual! I think its a bit cheeky to put the price up to be honest unless they are laying on extra sandwiches and things I run coach trips for a large bank and since autumn last year we have had a hard time filling places where a year ago we had to lay on extra coaches! I guess people are really being careful at the moment. Having said that I would gladly pay £30-£50 to spend the night in a good venue but I don't have kids / a mortgage!

Hi Cheekyboy, Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated !
Hopefully venues will soon realise, that this year it may get difficult to hire them out in the current economic climate.
Steve.

Hi, I would be happy to pay up to £50 for this location, however I agree with comments above that due to current market you are actually in a stronger bargaining position. Lise
