One of the famous cases has got to be this incident which took place 2nd July 1947. It was reported that a UFO had shattered over a farm and had left debris consisting of thin metal like foil. Many speculations have took place over the years and many thought it was a cover up by the government. The infamous video footage showing an alien being operated on was later proven to be a hoax, although again people thought this was another cover up to hide what was really going on, people thought the government had made contact with the other side.

The main problem I have with this is it was in America, and with all due respect to the American people I believe anything their government says LESS than I believe ours. After all, a government agency that could bring about the assasination of its head of state, then lie about it wouldn't worry at all about covering up something like this.
I believe there was something in the roswell incident and it may not be to do with ufo's, I think it is entirely possible that it was an American rocket - maybe one of their first trial space shots - possibly manned that went wrong and crashed, they obviously wouldn't want the public to know about this so faked the evidence and then denied it. We all know that if a government denies, the people believe so what better cover up.
Maybe this is a new idea, I don't know, but I think it could be near the truth

i agree....what has puzzled me (like you)....is why UFO's are mainly spotted in america?....until now (to be honest), ive never really thought about it. The idea of aliens is (to me) a ridiculous one, green body's, large bulging eyes......... ......However, i have a book on the subject..'UFO's A Definitive Casebook, by John Spencer and in his into he states that 'too many people have been touched by UFO's, directly and indirectly, for the UFO phenomenon to be wished away'....this book lists sightings etc covering a period of forty years and covers the whole world, including england. Interestingly, in 1211a.d in Ireland there was a close encounter of the second kind, but even more surprising (i think) was in 216 B.C, in sardinia (this is a historical perpective) a knight saw 'flighing ships' in the sky and in sicily the romans saw a round burning shield in the sky. I suppose the point of above is...can all these people who claim to have seen UFO's from past to present be wrong?...thinking from a personal view i suppose not but i find the whole idea ridiculous as mentioned above. The thought of being watched from a higher intelligence species reminds me of 'The Trueman Show'..... :ufo1:

Apparently, one of the most prolific areas for UFO sightings is in Wales, it is known as the welsh triangle but unfortunately I can't at present find the book that I read it in. Also, in one of the books in the Bible - Zechariah chapter five - it mentions (allegedly) a ufo. they have also been mentioned in the Ramayana (hindu Holy book), the Epic of Gilgamesh, and various other ancient scrolls, also ,there were "Flying lights" seen over the battlefield at Waterloo the night before the final battle.and one is shown on the Bayeux Tapestry.
When you look at this sort of evidence, it does make you wonder if there really is any truth in the subject..

The problem with the term UFO is that it automatically conjours up images of flying saucers and little green (or grey?) men. Im not convinced we are being visited by beings on other planets, although due to the size of the Universe, the chances of there being no other intelligent life at all is very slim. Look at the odds, they reckon the amount of stars in the galaxy is about 1million for every grain of sand on the earth... now that is an incomprehensible amount of possible suns, galaxies and planets, so to say there is no life out there is a little naive. The effort involved with travelling to mars, let alone across the galaxy is enormous, and they are going to do this just to kidnap a few people, cut up cows and leave crop circles? I don't think so. The more plausible explanation is that they are top secret government aircraft. look at roswell, the metal they found had memory, was scrunched up and folded out perfectly, which was like no metal about at the time. Now we have such materials commercially available, see the memoryflex metal used in specsavers glasses... I also watched a program on Discovery that proved that eye witness accounts are not 100% accurate. Basically they had a mock up of a crashed UFO, with foil on the ground and one armed guard. they walked a goup of people past it with cameras on their heads, then 3 months later interviewed them about what they saw. One woman claimed to have seen 4 armed guards and a ufo shaped object, but her camera footage showed that she didn't even look at the guard! so she didn't see one, let alone 4!
The powers that be are using our imagination to white wash whats really going on. its easier to let people beleive something that cannot be proved either way, rather than tell the truth.

I believe it myself. And you should know that most sightings hasve been in England. Its just most pictures have come from the USA.
You should read Stanton T. Friedman's book "Top Secret" He is a Nuclear Physicist, not a crak pot. He has been doing this for 30 years, and is one of the most respect men in this field.
Anyway. I don't see why its hard to believe we could be visited. Why would intelligent life forms from another star not visit us?? The only reason we don't to them is that we on't have the tech
If there is intelligent life out there, then there is of course the chance it will be more advaned then us. Advancement is key in the exploration of space.

i think that poeple are scared of there being another life that might be more intelliegent than humans....thats why people dismiss the idea.....like other people have said....we cant be the only ones around......

This is an interesting subject...and I really dont know if I believe or not...I would like to think that there is life on different planets.
Another subject that is interesting is crop circles...Although most of these have been proven to be faked.
