Situated in the heart of Essex, close to Chelmsford, lies village of Danbury. Danbury itself is a pleasant picturesque village. But, one of it's most noticeable features, is the large 13th century church. While the church itself is very interesting, have close links with the Knight's Templar, it is the cemetery that has drawn the attention of paranormal investigators. During the late 1980's it was the focus for a number of, for what of a better phrase, black magic rituals, culminating is a series of rather dramatic encounters at the end of the decade. And, even though the original perpetrators have long since discontinued their activity, there is without doubt an 'atmosphere' to the place. Much of what happened during the late 80's is detailed in the book 'The Black Alchemist' by Andrew Collins, but much of what's gone on since has not been documented.
It is also worth noting that Danbury church is by no means the first building on the site. A Norman church preceded the current building, and, prior to that, the site was occupied by a Roman fort. AND prior to that, there is evidence to suggest that there was also a Iron age fort. So there are many layers to the location, with the aforementioned activity being only the latest to be 'added'.

Sounds very interesting Andy, how easy is it to get permission for investigations there.

As it's an open publc cemetery you can visit it at any time, But I'd advise contacting the police first just to let them know that you'll be investigating there. This is something we (IoPR) do if we're going to a public site, that way if someone call the police at least you know that they, the police, know you're there.
Having said that, the chuch is pretty big making it hard for anyone to see that you are there!

I have to say Hermes they are wonderfull pictures!! I love looking at pictures of times gone by. It is also very interesting to see how people used to live and many images can produce vibrations and emit messages all of there own. I would love to see some more!

I agree with Lewis, It's great to see pictures of times long gone ! Every one seems to tell a story of it's own.
Great pictures. I wish you could still get ice creams at that price ! I wonder if 'The Halford cycle co,' pictured in Chelmsford High St. is anything to do with the 'Halfords' of today (selling bikes and car spares).
